director: Amos Poe
starring: Duncan Hannah · Debbie Harry · Eric Mitchell · Kitty Sondern · Patti Astor · David Forshtay

Loosely based on Jean Luc Godard's new wave classic film, Breathless. This is the story of Rico, a young man who lives in New York [circa mid '70s] but who also lives an alternate life in Paris during the time of the 'New Wave'. He is a photographer who thinks he's a gangster, a loner, and an outsider. Rico uses his camera like a gun, loading it with bullets of film. He's constantly on the look for some kind of reality to fulfill his fantasy. As long as he has that energy, he continues to live. He's also a romantic. And that is his downfall, suffering from the belief that all photographers are liars. When Rico falls in love, the delicate balance of his world is disrupted.

Of course the reason this movie has become very collectable is it was Deborah Harry's first screen performance, made shortly after her first band Wind in the Willows broke up and before Blondie was formed. She does sing a song called Sweet Thing in this film. Interestingly, her character here is named Blondie.
